Default Interesting TSV on QVC ?

JVC DRM30 DVD Recorder with 160Gb Hard Drive,

Any good at £441.72p or easypay x 2 £220.86p? (Certainly makes look Sky+
decidely tiny)

Nice editting function to remove commercial breaks on the hard drive before
copying to DVD-R/RW or RAM
Sadly,They did'nt cover properly whether it copies from HD at normal speed
or the faster speeds.

Just looking at a close-up after rewinding Sky+ and it says Dolby digital on
the front panal,(Could be actual DVD movie output though?)

Just done a quick search on the net but can't even find it on the internet
anywhere.

I'm wondering though the image does look different to the one that's on the
front page at www.qvcuk.com ( I wondered why the H was added on your link in
the model number) Some slight difference Besides the H of course? :-)

Sadly, none of the present DVD recorders do 5.1 recording. Philips has a
model in the USA that does it, but they've not launched a PAL version
over here. All the others record in DD2.0 (stereo in other words).

Pity, because it's definitely the feature that I'd want in my next
recorder.

Unsurprisingly selling for nearly 100 pounds less than QVC.

Check if it has RGB Input via SCART if you want the best quality recordings
from a Freeview or Sky set top box. Some Japanese DVD Recorders don't
support RGB in (just RGB out) - which reduces the quality of digital
recordings.

By a fraction, which on anything under 32" won't be descernable.

Only first generation models. All the latest Toshibas, Pioneers, Sonys,
Panasonics and what have you, now have RGB in as well as out.

Hardly. Composite video is appalling compared to a good RGB source, this is
easily visible on pretty much any TV when compared side by side.

Who said anything about composite? I was talking about S-Video, which is
only fractionally less better than RGB, especially on smaller sets such
as 32" and below.

Well, I know my Panasonic DMR-E50 does.
I'm wondering yet whether they use the PCB as the HD models and whether it
would be simply a case of slapping an HD inside?

I know I'm going way back to the Commodore Amiga computers (Still having the
IDE connector inside them whether an HD model or not) but a little pointless
opening up if it can't be upgraded or added to.
