And?

Wasn't exactly an inspiring piece of broadcasting, only a few punters and
the ones with cracked screens had obviously been mishandled during delivery.
The bit about the one that went pop was quite amusing though!

One of Tiny's Plasma's was on a group test on the Gadget Show. It came last,
and the TV editor who was doing the tests said that "cheap" plasma's are
designed for use as "info" displays in banks, station etc, not watching TV.

The group test was a CRT, LCD, Plasma, and HDTV plasma displaying 625 line.
The winner was - The Panny CRT!

Of course. That's because the CRT is the only device that will
actually display a TV picture as broadcast without conversion. All the
others are fixed-resolution, and for some reason best known to the
manufacturers, they fixed it at levels that are unlikley to be
applied.

They lost out becuase the CRT had brighter whites, blacker blacks, etc.
These guys where judging only on picture quality, not on life style issues
such as "thinness"!

In addition Susie Perry had just raved how good HDTV was using the panny
HDTV, yet it lost out when running 625 line.

LCD might not have the contrast of CRT, but I quite like the fact that it
gives less "flicker" than a CRT.
