I moved into a new house and I need something to replace my aging 27" Sony.
I want to get a plasma. I'd like to get a 50", but might have to get a 42" for $$$ reasons. Just curious, as to your best guess on when we'll see the price of plasmas come down a bit? a HD 42" is in the $4100 range and a 50" is in the $6400 range. Obviously there will be a premium over RPTV, but when do you suppose we'll see a HD 42" GOOD plasma in the $2500 to $3000 range? I know there are some in that range now, but they are the 853x480 ones. Waste of money.... A RPTV is not really an option because the room is too small. |

Do the math. |

Made by a Chinese company. As long as people pay in the $4,100 range, the prices will not drop. Chuck |

Wish I could remember what the technology was called, but a guy told me he saw it demonstrated in Las Vegas last year, and was superior to plasma, and cost, get this, about $800. It was at a TV-type convention. I assumed that people in the business/on these groups would have heard of it, too. Anyone? Possibly OLED? It'd make your post easier to read, since now your new content consists of 4 lines sandwiched in 50+ lines of old stuff... kinda hard to spot ![]() -- Lenroc |
