Default Some help - getting SKY...

Heres the situation...

My sister used to live here and ordered SKY in her name - that was like 3
years ago I think - she has since left but we still have the SKY Box and
Dish (albeit the box is well slow these days!)

I was considering getting SKY+ I would love the features but I ain't liking
the price.

So what are my options in regard to getting Sky Sports World back to the
existing box we have - usually they want to speak to my sister - so can I
just call up and say I have this box and Dish - can you send me a new card
under my name?

I only want the sports package (no movies) - now will I have to enter into a
yearly contract or can I do it month by month and whats the chances they
will offer me everything at half price (i know they do it to people quite
often and they did it to us in the past - i asked once but she said i needed
to have a ref code

(i only want SKY sports for the remainder of the football season as well...)

Just go for an all new setup. Go to www.sky.com and get thier offer. Get it
under YOUR name, YOUR bank details etc, make NO mention fo the fact your
sister had one previously, and it will be treated as if you are a completely
new customer.

Remember that. DON'T tell them your sister has had a box there, or you still
have it. You can get yourself a new Sky+ box, plus install for £99
http://www.sky.com/ordersky/equipment/skyplus plus you get the first 3
months viewing at half price. So, go for the Sky World & Family Pack (Movies
& Sports) you will get it for £10.50 p/month for 3 months.

Go for it. And use your brain when talking to them

Yes, you pay £99 for a nice new Sky+ box, which would normally cost more.
And yes, you will be in a 12 month contract, however, you will be getting
all the channels (movies, sports & family pack) for £20.50 p/m for the first
3 months, then all you have to do is downgrade at the end of the 3rd month
to a lesser package.

You save a considerable amount with this deal.

It's a good deal if you want a Sky+ box. I wish I could do that, cus I would
go for it.

indeed, but i only really wnat it for premiership footbal - no point having
it in the summer when nowt is on!! the total cost over 12 months would be
99+ 12x 20 (ish) thats like 340.

i would rather try and blag it half price for 3 months withwhat i have - so
like 20x3 = 60!

Don't forget that the Sky+ service fee is only waived if he stays on a
£30+ sub. He already said that he doesn't want films and would prefer
to lose the sport when the football ends. If he goes down to the £19
package he must either pay the extra £10 Sky+ fee or lose the
recording capability.

Personally if I wanted to subscribe to the £19 pack I would take the
£30 pack instead and have a brand new £99 Sky+ install as a new
customer.
