Other subscriptions available if you cancel

Finally got around to cancelling my Movie subscription, mainly due movies
being available on DVD at the same time as Sky and the complete lack of
variety after midnight (all those movie channels and all Horror or Adult
after midnight).

Interestingly though when I phoned Sky they then offered me cheaper options
if I just wanted Sky Movies 1, 3, 5, and 7 or Sky Movies 2, 4, 6, and 8 both
at £25.00.

Also last time my box went wrong 2 years ago I rang to cancel the whole
thing...when I explained why I was cancelling they gave me a "customer
retention" phone number and for £40.00 all in, they replaced the whole kit,
provided of course that I signed up for another 12 months of a full movie
package.

It does depend, though, on how high churn is that month, and how close
it is to reporting time. When I cancelled movies and Sky+ at the same
time they made no real effort to change my mind.
