Hi Guys (I thought I had cross posted to here this as well as
uk.tech-tv.digital, but apparently I must have put comma in wrong place) I have a Panasonic Sky Digital receiver TU-DSB30 with the following details: Model 1.1.U Version 0F0210 Operating System 1.2S4F3 EPG 3.2.11 When checking the Signal strength and quality they are both around 75-80 per cent with a lock indicator of OK. I have been having problems with the box crashing sometimes when first turned on others with key presses from the remote. Sometimes I have to reboot a couple of times. If I do a reboot all is generally well provided a choose a channel and leave it there or very carefully place an entry into the personal planner. The problems first seemed to manifest towards the end of last year (around Nov I think) and has got worse this year. Occasionally I get the message saying no satellite signal being received or words to that effect. If I turn off and back on with remote the channel will return. I spoke to Panasonic who informed that it was a software fault with the latest epg. I am reluctant to try and junk the box for a newer one with Sky under the extended warranty scheme as I'm sure they will try and palm me off with an inferior second hand or refurb. Does anyone have any ideas? Is it hardware or just the latest software making a mess of my box. I will check the LNB when I can brave going out to look at it, but the signal strength and quality lead me to believe it is not this as I'm pretty sure I got these figures pre crash era. This has been discussed here and elsewhere (e.g. DigitalSpy). It appears to be a software problem that only affects this model. Many people have had the problem with the TU-DSB30 (including myself) and they only started after that last software update. |

I think that it must be the software at fault as my Amstrad DRX 400 box is
producing the same problems as yours. Ever since it updated it self its never been the same. It will be interesting to find out what the actual problem is. -- .. "Bopper" wrote in message ups.com... Thanks people, sorry it's happening to you, but glad it's not just me.
It does seem worse since last weekend though. Cheers Luap |

I am using the Panasonic TU-DSB30 in the kids room and its on morning noon and night and has not suffered from the problems described here. Maybe its because Im in Eire, perhaps SKY are targeting different areas.... wondwer if thats possible? Steven "Mark" wrote in message ...
