Dunno if thats accurate or not I think the Fusion & Thompson cut off at about 127G - Someone over on Radio & Telly has fitted a very large drive to a Humax and filled it up so it must use a different file system. -- Regards Dave Saville NB Remove no-spam- for good email address |

Dunno if thats accurate or not No 160 isn't the limit because I've got a Seagate 200 in there, but it ticks a lot on startup, don't know why. Paul |

I've read that 160 is the limit. Dunno if thats accurate or not No 160 isn't the limit because I've got a Seagate 200 in there, but it ticks a lot on startup, don't know why. After looking in radioandtelly it looks like a 250Gb drive is possible but only some drives function quietly and correctly. Anyhow I now am betwixt as to whether I wanna spend 80 sheets solely for saving more telly. I was gonna slap it in me pc if there was a prob.... but I'd rather not when there are better performing models out there. Steve |

I've got a 120gb IBM drive that came from my old PC that I'm going to give a try. Yes I realise that IBMs have a bad reputation , but I have it lying around and it's not one of the failure prone models. -- Alex Hermes: "We can't afford that! Especially not Zoidberg!" " I've got a 120gb IBM drive that came from my old PC that I'm going to give a try. Report back Alex with results and model no. From some views/tests I've read on radio and telly it looks like it does not like certain IBM drives (I think it knows a thing or two (he he) )..... worth a try though. Yes I realise that IBMs have a bad reputation , but I have it lying around and it's not one of the failure prone models. Yea please don't talk about that I had 2 30gig models die(ish) on me within 18months. I sold the 3rd replacement as I could not trust. Shame tho' as they were/are real speed freaks. Dunno if I'll ever touch another. Steve |
