Default Cheapest Sky+ deal?

What's the least you can pay Sky for a package while retaining the recording
features of +?

If your package includes premium channels they waive the Sky+ fee.

If your package includes no premium channels they charge £10 for Sky+
use.

The minimum that one can pay Sky for Sky+ use is therefore £10 (= Sky+
but no pay channels at all).

The cheapest package plus Sky+ combination would be £23.50 and very
poor value it is too.

If you are lucky enough to live in a suitable area why not buy a
Freeview PVR which will record anything for free? There's a nice
Panasonic coming out next month. £230. No installation. No fees.

Do you know of any decent sites that talk(review) about FreeView PVR's? I'm
so use to being able to 'Sky+' stuff that I definately need some sort of PVR
solution but am starting to wonder how much (if at all) I would miss Sky if
I was to cancel. I currently pay £34 a month to sky so if I was to pay
~£200 for another solution I would be able to try that for (£200/£34) ~6
months and have not spent any more cash over that time. I set up digiguide
the other day with just the channels that are on FreeView to try and get my
mindset ready for what's to come, there's some decent stuff on. I actually
download all the main new stuff I like watching anyway so more and more
doubt my reasons for sticking with Sky.
