Default Sky + BT Line

I'm thinking of getting sky+ with multi-room but the bloke on the phone
said both boxes will need to be permanently connected to a BT line. This
causes major problems for me with regards to running cables etc.
My existing sky box hasnt been connected to a BT line for years but he
said these new ones have to be so they can make sure the boxes are in
the same/correct house ! Is he talkin bollox or will the engineer insist
on connecting them both up to BT line ? and if so then can I unplug them
as soon as he leaves ?
TIA

Multi-room requires that all boxes are permanently connected to the same
phoneline. The engineer will insist on fitting the extensions, and Sky will
contact you abour breach of T&Cs if you unplug them (and eventually charge
you for two subs if you refuse to comply).

You can get wireless phone connectors (Thomson I think) - at the sky
end you have a box that plugs into the mains with a telephone
connector to the sky - you have another plug wherever your phone
extension is - I have mine at other ends of the house and works fine.
Saves wires all over the place.
