Hi,
I have a 5.1 system on my PC. It has an external Dolby Digital/DTS/Pro Logic decoder. Do the DSP modes give you true surround - albeit a wider image, or do they just split stereo channels? How would I go about balancing my 5.1 speakers in a small room? Thanks, Neil |

Do the DSP modes give you true surround - albeit a wider image, or do they just split stereo channels? They use delays, phase shifting, reverb, etc. to try and recreate acoustics of an environment. Most sound very aritificial to me. It is not true discrete surround sound (nor is Prologic BTW, Dolby Digitial and DTS are though). How would I go about balancing my 5.1 speakers in a small room? Avia Guide to Home Theater DVD and a Radio Shack SPL (sound pressure level) meter. Dennis Thanks, Neil |
