I can hear the sound from whichever terrestrial channel my TV is tuned
to behind the sound on the channel I'm watching from my STB which is connected via scart to the TV (AV1). Is this a connection problem or is my TV on it's way out? I've never noticed it before so I think it has only happened in the last few days. Martin. |

Are you switching the TV to AV or relying on autoswitching? It could be connection problems so try disconnecting your SCARTs and reconnecting them in other or simpler ways as a test. I've found that does the trick sometimes. You could retune your TV to a null channel but then you could get hiss in the background. -- Max Demian |

Turned out the scart plug was not fully pushed in to the back of the video. Is it possible to get locking scart connectors? -- Kevin Seal (at home) FZS600 in Banana {kevin at the hyphen seal hyphen house dot freeserve dot co dot uk} |

It certainly is (CPC do them), if you want to swing the stb around your head like a lasso, Hmmm.... I'll have to get the works catalogue out tomorrow morning. but in practice the flat-cabled plugs with central rather than angled access are usually secure enough. I'm using one of them at the mo', but I think that's what's causing another problem, I'm getting interference bands after I plugged in a Sky box. It was fine when I just had the video plugged in. When I get a TUIT I'll have a plug around.... -- Kevin Seal (at home) FZS600 in Banana {kevin at the hyphen seal hyphen house dot freeserve dot co dot uk} |
