Default ITV3 & ITV News Channel

Seeing as ITV News Channel is off air until next year why don't ITV
broadcast it on ITV3 during the night and in the morning instead of
teleshopping and nightscreen. Surely get more viewers and keep the product
active for us viewers who don't have Sky.

They only started ITV3 up so people who hate ITV have something to moan
about!

Why not email them and ask?

ITV News Channel is still on-air, but seems to have been removed from
Freeview.

why don't ITV broadcast it on ITV3 during the night [...]

Email and ask. I wonder if they have to honour Plus's ad
contracts.

For those getting their DTT pictures from Crystal Palace, both are
available.

Teleshopping helps ITV3 revenue streams.

Surely get more viewers and keep the product
active for us viewers who don't have Sky.

They must consider the income from Teleshopping more important.

I suspect some, if not all of ITV News' overnight output
is pre-recorded anyway, here's why:-

Sunday BBC News at 22:00hrs. Berkshire train crash death toll
was announced to have risen from 6 to 7.

ITV News at 05:00hrs Monday. "Berkshire train crash death toll
stands at 6"

I'm beginning to understand why the 'service' was removed
in most areas to accommodate ITV 3.

Some months ago I set the video recorder going with afresh 3 hr tape at
around 1 am to catch some news item I'd missed earlier. The result was
the same prerecorded material repeated every hour. The item I wanted was
not included:-(

I can't be sure now but I got the impression the continuity announcer had
to sit in the studio just to do the 'top of the hour' headlines separately.
What a chore!

And what income might that be? The actual number of people purchasing the
americanised ****e they sell is surely nil? I'd say one per night, IF that
