Default Latest Sky Marketing "con"

Sky piles it high and sells it cheap says DTG article

http://www.dtg.org.uk/news/news.php?id=372

Sky Starter Pack makes getting Sky digital even easier, says Sky.

Great you can buy a package off the shelf for £39.99, brilliant,
except...

You get your first month or two months included free depending on the
package, but you get a 12 month minimum contract.

So really what is the difference with the current situation?

What really worries me is that someone buys someone a gift and thinks
that they get Sky for £39.99, but actually unless they are prepared to
sign up for a 12 month contract (and pay at least three times that
amount again) you get nothing.

Sky piles it up but what does it smell of?

One's in a box with a remote control in it, the other you get the remote
control in the box when they install it. That's about the only
difference I can find...

I should think that word will soon get around that these "Sky in a Box" are
a confidence trick ..... the ASA` should be on to this one quick and the
stors like Tesco will be bound to point out that you will need to sign a 12
month contract and that the true cost is £39.99 + £156.00 contract.

There is good chance that when people get home and discover thay have been
had ,that the "Sky in a Box" boxes will be taken back to the stores double
quick.
