In point 6 of the software release notes for the 1.00.13 s/w it states the
following: 'Reserving recordings It is now possible to overlap recordings. You can now set the same time for the end time of one recording and the start time of a second recording. ' With both the .11 & the .13 s/w i've noticed that the first recording will end one minute before it meant to & the next recording will start at the time set. Further I've noticed that any recordings will end 1 min before their meant to so a 30 min programme will record for 29 mins. Has anyone else noticed this? I know I can increase the program length manually but that negates the advantage of programming from the EPG. -- Matt ===== http://getdigiguide.com/?p=1&r=28810 |

I know I can increase the program length manually but that negates the advantage of programming from the EPG. I've pointed that fact out to Humax, and made the comment that it says that they advertise that you can programme from the EPG, when actually you still need to adjust the schedule. I asked them to have an option where you could automatically add a set number of minutes to the end of each recording. Then you would have to adjust the times if you were going to have two beside each other, but otherwise you would not miss the end of the programme. They said that they would not be doing that, but they are working on a system of PDC, that will automically start the programme at the relevant time. This has been discussed in another thread. The problem is that in the meantime the current system does not work, and therefore since Humax do appear quite responsive to complaints, if enough people post it to www.humaxdigital.com/hcsa then hopefully they will do something about it. What really I want is for the box to automatically add a user defined x minutes to the end of the recordings so long as nothing else is scheduled to be recorded. |

Response from Humax on this issue... --- == Reply on 31-08-2004 == If Broadcasters are to send down the Actual start and end times of programmes then a PDC function will work (currently the BCC have stated that they do this). In this case we may be able to use this feature. If it does tkae a long time to release then are other plan is to release an option to extend all EPG recordings by x minutes (users would select this). Although the recorded time does say 29 minutes, it is more accurately 29 minutes and 50 seconds. This is to allow the unit to reocrd a programme with the same start time as a previous end time. == Reply on 18-08-2004 == We do intend to resolve this issue by using a PDC fuctions within the software that will start and end recordings from the acutal EPG being sent; however this does need further development. For now you will need to edit the EPG recordings to add a few minutes at the end. --- The problem as I pointed out to them is that though the BBC may do this for BBC1 and BBC2, it does not always work on Cbeebies. |
