Default Unauthorised yellow house sky card

Can anyone help?

In an effort to obtain a yellow house sky card I phoned sky intending to
subscribe for a month and then unsubscribe. The Indian bloke I spoke to
told me that I could obtain a V2 sky card by asking a friend who was a
subscriber to phone sky and buy a replacement card for £10. One of my
friends kindly did this for me but 10 minutes later he completely lost his
sky reception and was greeted by "card in not authorised" message. I have
tried the card in my box and I get the same message and am still unable to
get ITV, CH4 and CH5!!! Bugger...wht a waste of £10.

Is there any way authorise this card to make it work and if so how?

If not what is the best way of going about getting a working yellow house
sky card? I have read other posts about the 'pout' method but have been told
this no longer works, can anybody confirm if it still does or doesn't?

Thankyou in advance for any positive help and advice.

Sky have forced eBay to withdraw these cards as they are Sky property.

Plenty of people still selling them on there as 1 - 3 day auctions. Ebay
don't cancel them quick enough.

They are expensive as well.
Do they work?
Some of them say they do not get ITV, Ch4 and Five, so what use are they?

Yep usually around 60 - 70. I would have thought most people are using them
for Europe? They work fine, obviously only go for the ones that state they
work for ITV, CH4, and Five. I believe BBC1 and 2 is sent over clear on Sky
anyway now? you don't need a Card.

Thats what I was thinking, some people must be paying over £50 for something
they do not need.
Yes it must be the Europeons that buy them, think in Uk a minium
subscription for a minium of a year would be better value, ay least you gain
a few channels for that year.
