Help!
Supermarket Lidl are selling portable 12v DC Free To View Satellite Rx and Dish for UKP75. The manufacturer is Comag, and the model seems to be CV3. O.K, I know about Sky, but what satellites/channels are available on Free View? The receiver does not appear to have a card slot. Any info greatly appreciated, as I'd like to use the system aboard my canal narrowboat. Joe Jones |

"Joe Jones" wrote in message ... O.K, I know about Sky, but what satellites/channels are available on Free View? Freeview is the BBC/Crown Castle Terestrial digital system. This unit at Lidl is a satellite system and is for reception of free to air broadcasts from many Europeon satellites, including those on the Sky/Astra 2 satellite. I suggest you look at http://www.lyngsat.com/ The actual satellites you will be able to recieve might not be all the FTA ones as they differ in power, thus the dish supplied might not be large enough, it does look small in the Lidl picture. Would think the powerfull satellites at 28deg/19deg./13 deg. will be ok, seems to me try it and see. Anyone know what time Lidl open on the 26Th? How many each store is likely to have? -- Regards, David Please reply to News Group. |

Unless you are into foreign language channels, then these systems offer
bugger all channels that would be much use to the UK viewer. Don't bother wasting your money, and don't confuse them with Freeview, the UK's Digital Terrestrial TV service. These boxes sold by LIDL will not be any use for receieving Freeview. "Joe Jones" wrote in message ... Help! Supermarket Lidl are selling portable 12v DC Free To View Satellite Rx and Dish for UKP75. You can *not* get ITV. Ch4 or Ch5 with this box on Astra* as it has no card slot. All Beeb channels are receivable. -- Dave Fawthrop dave hyphenologist co uk |

Check where your store displays the offers. These *may* be kept in the office **check**. These will *not* recieve ITV, ch4 or ch5. All Beeb OK Got one. At first sight it looks like a nicely done kit. All comes in a carry case, includes a compass and a SCART cable. Dish can be operated from lid of case as well as various mounts (provided). (the Spanish one) on the preprogrammed stations, think it needs a rescan of the stations. The supplied dish is small, will try it later, my feeling is it might only get the stronger stations and really designed for a lot further south in Europe. -- Regards, David Please reply to News Group. |
