Default Gateway 42" Plasma

Pro: it's a cheap plasma

Con: it's a cheap plasma.

But seriously, it's a nice price, but just be aware that it has terrible
brightness and contrast, relative to other plasmas on the market. And don't
copy the TV commercial where the kid is playing video games on it, bad idea
(picture will burn in with excessive use).

And also be aware that it doesn't have sufficient resolution for true HDTV
picture quality (either 1280x720 or 1920x1080) all it will do is 480 scan
lines, like a DVD player.

Need some help. I'm seeing a lot of these Gateway 42" Plasmas being

offered on
e-bay. Prices have ended up about $2200. Can I get some opinions as to the

pros
and cons of this unit? Any place to look for reviews?
TIA

Go to www.cnet.com for plenty of user reviews. In general, it is a good
price, but you get what you pay for, it is not a very good TV compared to
any other plasma set

Thank you all for the replies. I actaully received an offer from a seller to
sell the set for $1099 and to wire payment after receiving the unit. However,
as you all pointed out, you get what you pay for and it willl not do HiDef.
Thanks again
