According to the DTG website, the v3.00 update for Sony iDTV2 sets,
which includes the DX150, is being repeated this week, from 10.00 am yesterday until 09.00 am Monday. The problem is that my set, which is still on v2.00, does not seem to want to pick it up. I understood that receiving the update is supposed to be as simple as leaving the set tuned to BBC1 for a couple of hours. I left the set tuned to BBC1 for 4 hours from just after 10.00 am yesterday morning, without success. I tried again during the afternoon, again no joy. The TV is set to accept updates in the settings menu, and yesterday evening I carried out a channel rescan, then left the set on BBC1 again all night, a total of just over 9 hours. It still hasn't picked up the update. Is there something that I'm not doing right? -- Phil |

Have you tried turning the tv off then back on?
I believe the set downloads the software but will not use it until the tv has been put into standby and back on again. (Thats what mine needed anyway!) "Philip Stokes" wrote in message ... (Thats what mine needed anyway!) Yes, tried that several times - including turning it off completely and removing the wall plug for 10 minutes before turning it back on. It still reports that it's on software version 2.00 ![]() -- Phil |

My parents' first generation Sony never updated over the air even if they left it on BBC1 all day or all night, whereas mine did. They had to keep phoning Sony for update cards. Eventually the digital tuner died completely and couldn't be repaired so they got a refund from their credit card. It's possible you're doing nothing wrong, but have a faulty TV. Chris. |
