Default Problems copying from Sky+ to VHS

Hello,

I have tried copying Sky+ recorded programmes to my 5-yr old VHS machine,
but the quality isn't too good. The picture looks "soft" and there is
intermittent "flashing" as if the contrast is being turned up and down for a
second or two.

Recordings made via the VCR's tuner are excellent, but anything recorded by
selecting "AV1", the channed the satellite is connected, to suffers from
this problem.

Any ideas of causes, and hopefully remedies?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Best wishes,

Kevin

It's called "Macrovision"- it's the same with DVDs if you try and copy
them - you can buy boxes that remove the Macrovision encoding.

- Simon.

Hello there, and thanks for your input.

I'm not sure if this is a Macrovision problem. I've seen the effect of
Macrovision, and I'm familiar with them, the problem I'm having isn't that
pronounced. I've also noticed that programmes I've recoreded from Sky+ are
at much lower volume than those recorded from the VCR's tuner section.

Thanks again for your help.

Best wishes,

Kevin
