Default Sky for local Cricket Club

Can anyone tell me the monthly costs etc that would be incurred by having
Sky installed in our local cricket club.

Don't think we could justify the £194 a month fee that I spotted on the Sky
website. I heard a rumour that the monthly fee is actually based on
rateable value of the premises.

Anyone any ideas????

Thanks

Ian

Why do business premises have to pay more, anyway?

Because they are a business! It's always the same. You get phone, you pay
more. You get Broadband, you pay more. You get Sky, you pay more!

Just seems to be that if you're a business you have to pay shed loads more!

Because BSkyB is a monopoly supplier & can charge whatever they like.

And they say that by having $ky, you get more customers and your takings
will go up. Or if you don't have Sky, all your punters go elsewhere and you
lose money. They can't lose, can they?

A cricket club is hardly a business unless it's Yorkshire or Middlesex. If it's
your local cricket club it's probably a non-profit organisation.

Non profit is putting it mildly. We barely break even due to the hard work
of a number of volunteers. We take around £32k a year over the bar.

Our club treasurer has said there is no way the club could justify spending
£2,500 a year on TV channels. I was basically wondering if Sky would take
turnover such as this into account when such a small "business" wishes to
become a customer.
