Default Vaguely O/T - NTL tell customers to F### off

I thought everyone here who has Sky and not cable might like to see
this. Having previously suffered at the hands of NTL customer
'service' I find it most amusing...

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2004450713,00.html

CALLERS reporting faults to phone giants NTL yesterday were greeted by
a recorded message telling them to f*** off.
A gruff man with a strong Geordie accent made the foul-mouthed
announcement.

He said: "Hello. You are through to NTL customer services. We don't
give a f*** about you. We are never here.

"We just will f*** you about, basically, and we are not going to
handle any of your complaints. Just f*** off and leave us alone. Get a
life."

Receptionist Emma Walker, 29, from Coalville, Leics, rang to report
her phone had no dial tone just a day after joining NTL.

She said: "I thought it was a real person. My mouth fell open in
shock. I had to call back as I couldn't believe my ears.

"I still haven't been able to report my complaint because my calls all
route back to the same recorded message."

Lecturer Richard Studeny, 43, from Nottingham, rang to complain that
some numbers had been inexplicably blocked.

He said: "I thought I was dreaming. I can laugh about it, but it
wouldn't have been so funny if a kid had got through.

"Perhaps NTL stands for Nothing but Terrible Language."

Horrified NTL bosses axed the message yesterday afternoon.

It was on a line for call centres in Manchester, Swansea and
Lanarkshire.

Company sources said an outside hacker breaking into the NTL system
was the most likely culprit, though an employee with a grudge was not
ruled out.

Spokesman Malcolm Padley said: "We'd like to apologise."
