Just wait a few months!! ... Sky have run out of EPG slots (until it gets
revamped) according to posts elsewhere.

Are you sure? I assumed that the person who posted that information was making a
joke. As far as I can see there are plenty of slots e.g. 108, 114, 119, 120,
122, 123. Not to mention dozens either side of ITV2 on 175.

No, it's for real - and has been coming for a while.

Don't confuse the arbitrary presentation numbers with the internal channel
identifiers.

Well I think ITV-1 have now done away with their two positions used
in overlap areas (963 and 964) so there's two identifiers that can be used.

I do find it odd that Sky have (allegedly) come unstuck with new EPG entries.

Um, no, because the channels still have internal IDs - they're still
available in their region - whether you can see them listed in the EPG or
not.

Ah ! yes you're quite right, too much juice this lunchtime :-)

Forgive me for asking, but what is an "internal channel identifier" and how
many are there?

Have we got to the stage when all transponders are full?

One is led to believe that it isn't the number of holes that counts,
it is the digibox's ability to store more numbers.
