Default Switching to Sky

Im currently with NTL and like many others have no end of problems.

Ive recently seen an offer on the Sky page for Sky+ at £99. This is very
tempting as far as im concerned.
I would like to know if im making the right choice in changing, are these
boxes reliable and are they as good as they lead me to believe.
I notice a lot of people talking of problems with their boxes is this the
case. Also if there is a problem what is Skys response like and is it all
sorted free of charge.

The fact that i can record one programme while recording another is my main
reason.

I assume i give NTL one months notice is this right.

Also i think installation might be awkward for them what happens in these
circumstances
Any advice appreciated

Kev

in what regards do you mean installation may be tricky??

we've got specialist heights teams for anything over 30 feet and if theres a
way of gettin you hooked up so we can get another subscriber we will find it

generally as long as you have a south facing wall and CLOS you'r pretty much
a cert for getting an install

although having said that i have seen some ingenious solutions as of late
cropping up

as for the sky+ pretty much reliable bulletproof in comparison to ntl digi
boxs

They are reliable enough. Most Sky+ failures are hard drive related
and you can fix this yourself by simply installing a suitable new
drive. This can increase recording time by a factor of 6 also.

Response is fair to poor and free under guarantee. After that you pay
£65 call-out unless you know your rights or can negotiate well.

Theres a channel on sky called Get Lucky (235) and you can see a show
called Naked News every night at 10:30pm - so yes - you are making a
good choice .

Hi and thanks for responding to my post . The reason it could be a problem
is the fact that the rear of the house(south facing) has a full length lean
to with an asbestos sheet type roof making access very awkward. I know this
is awkward as i am a window installer. What i could do is drop the glass out
of the upstairs window and without leaning out to far you could fix it this
way, is this something they would be prepared to do.

Thanks for your hekp

Pity about all the 3/4's of the screen covered in the ****e you'll need to
get used to on most Sky Channels.
