Default 2nd skybox issues...phone line checks...and otherm things

1) Anyone have this problems. My second sky box, upstairs, has a 2nd card.
But for some reason it cannot view channels 103-104-105 (ITV, CH4 and CH5),
my downstairs one can. On the 2nd box it just says "Not available".

You aren't very clear. Is this a valid subscription card, an FTV card
or an expired subscription card? What channels can you get with it?

2) I had a recent letter saying the phone has been un-plugged...do they do
recent checks then?

So do you have a £10 "mirror" sub? If so you must keep both boxes
connected to the same phone line forever, and yes, they do check this
and always have done.
If you do have a £10 mirror sub then just ring Sky and tell them that
the second card doesn't get the FTV channels correctly. They will sort
it on-air.

3) When I feed the "RF out" of the box into the "RF in" of my video...the
video cannot find the channel to show sky. Any ideas?

Don't use RF: use scart. See the FAQ.

4) Does anyone have any nice tricks/hacks/ideas to do with a 2nd card/box
or anything that could be benefical to us?

No.

Both boxes have to be connected to the phone system? I think I would prefer
to avoid metres of telephone cable wiring from the second box to the only BT
phone socket in the house.

I wish there was a decent competitor to Sky.

Gareth.

For the mirror sub, yes.

You can use a wireless phone extender.
