You could put a nice ornament on it, perhaps?

Dont forget you can start watching something that hasn't finished recording
yet ! Might seem obvious but until you are used to it its easy to forget you
can watch something before its finished recording. Also you can rewind, ff,
pause etc whilst it records. Also, dont forget instant rewind, useful for
catching those bits you missed by a few seconds.
On a 1 hour program you can start recording, then start watching the
recording after 15 mins, ff through the ads and just about catch up by the
end. Also, again might seem obvious but if you want to watch 3 things, if
one of them is on a BBC 1 or 2, watch that on terrestrial and record the
ones with ads in.

And how did you come to that conclusion? If you're going to make comments
like this, at least justify them.

Another useful tip: If you are watching a programme and belatedly
decide you want to keep a copy of it you can press the record button and
get the whole programme recorded (provided you have not passed the size
you have set the rewind buffer to), /i.e./ not just from that moment on.
Of course if you switch into the programme late that wont work but if
the Sky+ was tuned and the TV off it will.
