You can't choose. However, there is only the Amstrad or Pace version, and
they are very similar.

4. Does changing the hard drive in a Sky+ box invalidate the warranty? (I
guess it does).

Yes, unfortunately it does.

Default Potential New Customer...

Hello all,
I've been reading posts for a while and I have read the FAQ, however I am
considering replacing one of my ntl boxes with a Sky+ sub. I have a few
questions and I hope they aren't covered elsewhere (I'm visually impaired so
I *may* have missed something).

1. There's a possibility that I may move in the next few weeks or months; if
I get a subscription before I move, can I get the dish moved/new dish, and
how much is this likely to cost?
2. Will I have any choice over where on the building my dish goes (I know it
has to face the satellite but I live in an apartment block and don't want to
be the only one with a dish on the front)? Can it go on the top of the
building etc?
3. Is there a choice of Sky+ box and can I choose?
4. Does changing the hard drive in a Sky+ box invalidate the warranty? (I
guess it does).

Thanks in advance.

Would you like to have a drink with me? ...
When I say "drink", I mean a 2-hour conversation before getting down to a
night of rampant humping.
When I say "night", I mean about 7 minutes ...

Yes. About £40.

Maybe, if the cables can be run from there. Sky use specific teams for
"high altitude" jobs. You would have to see what they say or get an
independent dealer to install it. This last will not be free though.
If you are moving why not just wait till then?

3. Is there a choice of Sky+ box

Yes. Pace or Amstrad.

and can I choose?

Not if you order from Sky. Though you can go into a high street shop
and buy the Sky+ and arrange installation by Sky later. This costs
more.

4. Does changing the hard drive in a Sky+ box invalidate the warranty? (I
guess it does).

You guess right.
