Default Subscribing without a landline

I have a few questions about getting a new contract with sky and would
greatly appreciate any help. I dont have a land line in my house and I
dont really want to get one. This however means that sky will charge
me £200 for the digibox, which I dont really understand.

Another option I have is to get hold of a digibox and then connect
that way. My idea for this is to ask my dad to upgrade to sky+ and
give me his old digibox. Will I be able to use this to subscribe
without having to pay for installation (my building already has a
dish) or signing a 12 month contract?

If anyone has any suggestions that will allow me to have sky cheaply
before the start of the new football season that would be fantastic.

||
|| They subsidise the box (169 quid acording to Sky), dish (about 25
|| quid) and installation so want to get something out of it, i.e. you

||
|| Yes, buy a box on ebay for 60 quid or talk dad into Sky + 200 quid
||
||| or signing a 12 month contract?
||
|| I think first time subscribes have to have a 12 month contract, but
|| not sure

||
|| I have a promotion code mailed to me this morning which I have just
|| got out of the bin for you, it will save you 6 pounds a month (or cost
|| you 34 quid a month depending on your point of view)
||
|| Has to be used by 19th July 2004
||
|| FREE SKY SPORTS UNTIL 2005 quote UT60 SP06

First time subscribes do have to have a 12 month minimum contract.

Yes.

or signing a 12 month contract?

That is obligatory. Why not just get your father to continue his
existing sub and you can use it and the box on your dish which will
involve no minimum period? He can simply take out a brand new full sub
for his new Sky+. Do NOT go for the mirror sub option.
