Default just confirming the best way to get sky + cheaper

am I right in assuming that only NEW subscribers can get a discount on sky+?

I have sky (and have had it since may 2000) and I want sky +. I am moving
house in 2 weeks and would seem like an ideal chance to get sky+

can I cancel my sky subscription, then get sky+ as a NEW subscriber in my
new house and get any good deals?

many thanks

Yes this is correct. I was stung for the full £259 being an existing
customer. They simply wouldn't budge, even when I threatened to cancel! The
way it was justified to me was that when I signed up for Sky, I received a
free minidish and digibox, and had installation for just £10, and so new
customers should benefit from the same. I think it's a little different when
you're talking about a Sky+ box and not a standard digibox.

Yes it would. I don't know how I lived without it!

I believe you could. It's to do with the matching of a surname with a post
code. So, your surname would not match with a new post code, making you a
"new customer" ;-)

Yes. Never mention the old sub.
