Hi all.
I've got a old Amstrad Sky set top box (model DRX1 I think). I've had it since I got Sky about 3 years ago. Anyway, I was at a friends who have a newer silver box (don't know the make) and noticed that whenever they navigate onscreen menu's, it responds almost immediatley. On mine the menu's take that long the on screenTV guide is unusable. Is mine so slow because of its age and if so, how do I go on about convincing Sky to give me a new one free? If it makes any difference I'm on the premium package (£40+ a month) and order a few PPV's each year. |

More likely your mate has a Panasonic box; they have the best reliability and the fastest response. |

The early ones still do work though. I have a 1st gen Grundig in daily use. and if so, how do I go on about convincing Sky to give me a new one free? If your existing box broke and if you then threatened to cancel then they might give you a free one. The simplest way would be to cancel then re-subscribe using a different name. Then you would get a new box for nothing. If it makes any difference I'm on the premium package (£40+ a month) and order a few PPV's each year. Why not invest £150 in a Sky+ then? You won't have to pay the usage fee for it. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these.
