Default UTV and C4 in ROI

Any updates on when/if we will get them back. We subscribe like everyone
else and still have no access here. Appreciate any news, esp. good news. No
anti-paddy comments welcome ;-]

Can you get RTE1 in Northern Ireland?

Can you get RTE1 in Northern Ireland?


Not on satellite, no. And where I live, not on analogue either.

Its a programme rights issue and I can't see how it will be resolved any
time soon.

Exactly, I don't see why the south should get UTV if we don't get RTE

When I was working in Belfast recently, the hotel I stayed in had the
five UK terrestrial channels as well as RTE1 and RTE2. I'm pretty sure
it was on analogue terrestrial because teletext was available on every
channels.

Yes it would have been. RTÉ have a high power transmitter at Clermont
Carn just south of the border, the signal "accidentally" spills over and is
receivable in Belfast. I've stayed at the Europa (not called that now ?)
RTÉ 1 and 2 were available on the TV there. Wouldn't
have been from satellite because this was 1991.

Yes it's available on analogue terrestrial(limited) and digital cable(were
available), but not on analogue cable, digital satellite or Freeview.
