im about to move into a new build property and managed to get sky to agree
to installing a free dish. There is a standard tv point and with coax runing into the loft. When the engineer comes to install the new dish ,will he connect to this or will he try to run a cable down the outside of the house and drill through the wall? also,I want to put my own tv point in the main bedroom, so if I use a 'T' connection in the excisting coax that will run to the dish, can I use a ski eye infa red so I can view ski in the bedroom? |

: : Sky must use new satellite spec coax as ordinary TV type coax is nowhere : near good enough quality for the microwave signal that comes from the LNB on : the minidish. Not quite correct! The LNB (the B is "block down-downconverter") downconverts the microwave signals (~10-12GHz) (which would need waveguides) to ~1-1.5GHz to pass down the coax. Higher than normal UHF frequencies (so better coax needed) but still not microwave! |
