Why do think that it's a Guardian mistake to leave-out ITV2

The 10am version of the article included ITV2.

I have explained several times that the Media Guardian website updated
their web page after I had copied the info, I still have the 10am
version of the page open in my browser.

Your browser must do some sort of wishful thinking then! I've just
re-checked the URL & ITV2 is conspicuous by its absence ....

10am version of the page open in my browser with the reference to ITV2
still there, I can send a screen grab of the page to anyone who is
that interested !.

I have opened the web page on a different computer and the page no
longer contains the ITV2 reference, but the report is STILL dated
10am.

I suspect someone has got the wrong end of the stick somewhere as I
doubt it will be Free To Air but will require some form of FTV card

I also suspect many of those 200 channels will be Radio and Shopping

It is amusing that the first thing you see is a picture of an ugly old
dish (not a minidish) stuck up very lazily on the front of a bay
window blocking the window and the caption "You'll need one of these
to pick up Sky's new package"

Looks like someone at the Beeb read your post as they've changed the

Only channel mentioned which isn't already FTA (CNN, BBC, ITV News)
or FTV (ITV1, ch4, five) is ITV2

As I expected looking at the original Press Release from Sky below the
Guardian has completely made up the information that ITV2 would be
included as there is no mention of which channels would be included at
all except that a FTV card will be provided for ITV1, Ch4 and five
http://tinyurl.com/2s9v5

At present, Sky offer a free dish and box - without a subscription - to
anyone who pays the "standard" installation price (£100, IIRC).

How is this "proposition" any better than that?

PS: Can you not get ITV2 on Sky without a sub?

And does it matter anyway?

Do they supply a FTV card for itv1, ch4 and five ? If not it stops
you having to be ripped off on ebay getting one

nope it is a pay channel in the "Family Package" deal

And does it matter anyway?

IMHO there are occasionally things on I may watch, the odd film etc

I see that the www.skyfreeview.tv web name is already for sale on eBay!

Probably someone with inside knowledge.

Stark choices

The 150 was mentioned as the cost of buying and installing a dish and
tuner.

They've done this in the past, in the good old days of analogue. Loads of
stuff was unencrypted and then they introduced encryption and
subscription.

The official press release is he

http://www.corporate-ir.net/ireye/ir... em_id=580035

Given that Sky One is funded by advertising, why isn't it included, just
like ITV1 is?

Because Sky One isn't entirely funded by advertising?
