Default Dual output LNB - where can I get one?

Hi All,

I need one to run two digiboxes off the one mini-dish. I assume it's just a
case of a straight swap of the existing LNB and running some decent cable to
the new digibox. I assume that it should course any issues, but if there's
anything else I need to know about, please enlighten me.

Can anybody recommend a decent retailer? I don't mind paying a little extra
for decent service.

Kind Regards

Rob

That's about it. The most common LNB to use will be a quad LNB as
supplied for the Sky+. They fit most minidishes.
Remember to waterproof the connections.

Thanks for that. I maybe wrong about this, but doesn't the digibox power
the LNB? If so, won't I need to set the second digibox not to do so?

A quad LNB is actually four separate LNBs encased in the same space as one. They
all operate completely independently.

I was just idly wondering, but does running 4 LNBs off one dish affect
the signal each can obtain from the dish - or does it not work like that?

The signal is as good as, if not better than than the standard single
output LNB.

SatCure has a good selection and the prices are pretty good (from
£50):

I bought mine from Satcure who I thoroughly recommend although I don't like
their habit of quoting prices without VAT. Apart from that their delivery times
& service are first rate. They even have a new-look web site!

The quad LNB I bought from them is an Invacom LNB42 Universal quad-output 0.3dB
64.95GBP +17.5% VAT. The quality of reception is first-rate. At first I found
the flimsy piece of amber coloured plastic film that covers the actual LNB head
rather strange. Come to think of it I still find it cheap'n'nasty & potentially
prone to damage.

My LNB is for a normal 80cm dish & I think that the OP mentioned that he had a
minidish so will require a different model & it will probably be even cheaper.

Minidish quad LNBs go for under £20 on Ebay. There are a *lot* of
these about: ask any ASA, most of whom seem to have racks full of
them.
