Default no sound from right speaker

The set-up is 10 KEF's 2005.2, 6 in the lounge and 2 in each bedroom.
As well as the Amp, there is a DVD player and SatBox connected via
Scarts to the TV in the lounge. Last week I swapped the 2 Scart cables
to new ones made by Thor.

However, when using the SatBox and the Amp set to TV/Sat, there is no
sound on the front right speaker. The right speaker in each bedroom
also doesn't receive any sound.

If playing a DVD, sound is heard on the right speaker. When playing a
CD, sound can be heard from the right speaker if DVD/LD is set. I can't
remember if sound can be heard if TV/Sat is set.

I have swapped the Scarts around and DVD's seem fine.

Is it possible that the SatBox is faulty or needs to be reset?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Does it work when you connect the scart directly to the TV? How
about the phono sockets?

The scart is connected directly to the TV. Haven't tried the phono
sockets. Last night, I put a video on and the right speaker was
OK. I switched back to the SatBox and that was also OK for a
while and then the sound was lost on the right speaker again.

It's a very strange coincidence but I called to cancel Sky last week
and they offered the full package for £20 so I decided to keep it
for 3 months. I noticed that problem that night when I got home.
Is it possible Sky have done something 'sinister' at their end?

I thought you said there was an amp? If so, how is this connected and
which right speaker are you talking about: TV or hifi? Do be much more
specific.

Sounds like a faulty connection to me. Wiggle the scarts.

There is amp. The SatBox is connected via Scart to the TV. The
TV is connected to the amp via 2 x Phono.

Took everything apart last night and noticed that it was the Phono
plugs that were loose at the back of the TV. It all works as normal
again. Thanks.
