Default Slightly different FTA card question

Hi

I was a SKY subscriber for many years but was hardly watching my
package channels near the end so cancelled my contract last year when
I moved houses.

I have now moved houses again and the new flat has a pre-wired
satellite connection so I thought I might as well hook up my old SKY
digital box and watch the terrestial channles thru it.

I've read up on FTV/FTA/Yellow house Card from this group.

Shortly after I cancelled my contract last year SKY sent me a Yellow
House Card but since I no longer had SKY I just left it in a drawer.
Now, as I understand it, even cancelled Yellow House Card should be
able to view ITV etc but it doesn't - it says "the card is not
authorized".

Now my questions:

1) Is there a way I can get the card to authorise without phoning SKY
up? Ever since the card got delivered to me last April it has never
been in a SKY box.

2) Even if I phone SKY up will they actualy authorise it now that I am
no longer a subscriber?

Cheers

A

Shame.

You could try putting it in your box and leaving it for a few days.
You can do no harm. Had you done this early on the card may have
activated.

No, unless you start your sub up again (minimum period seems to be
about 2 months). You card would of course continue to give the FTV
channels if you cancelled after this time.
