Default Some BBC shows with [AD] in the synopsis

anyone noticed that some BBC shows (neighbours and the new 2 pints of lager
for a couple) now have this [AD] at the end of the program synopsis thing
when you press the i button on sky plus, does anyone know what this means
???

Audio Described. Narration for blind people. You can enable it in the
Language section of the EPG.

Except that it does not work?!?!? At least not on Narrative anyways.

Then it may be that the BBC don't have it working on DSat yet. They use
the same EPG data on DTT, where it does work. Sky have some audio
described programmes.

Yes, Sky and five are the only ones to use the DSAT system so far. It will
have an 'N' on the top line of the info box.

Just for info...
Currently the only way to provide Audio Narration on Sky is for the
broadcasters to provide a pre-mixed feed of programme audio plus narration.
On DTT the system is different and called Audio Description. The
broadcasters (all the PSB channels plus some others) send the narration plus
control signals that allow adjustment of the relative level of the narration
c.d. the programme sound, and it also uses less bandwidth. So a better
system, but only a few Freeview boxes currently can receive it properly.
