anyone noticed that some BBC shows (neighbours and the new 2 pints of lager
for a couple) now have this [AD] at the end of the program synopsis thing when you press the i button on sky plus, does anyone know what this means ??? cheers |

Yes, Sky and five are the only ones to use the DSAT system so far. It will have an 'N' on the top line of the info box. Phil |

Just for info...
Currently the only way to provide Audio Narration on Sky is for the broadcasters to provide a pre-mixed feed of programme audio plus narration. On DTT the system is different and called Audio Description. The broadcasters (all the PSB channels plus some others) send the narration plus control signals that allow adjustment of the relative level of the narration c.d. the programme sound, and it also uses less bandwidth.
