Default Noisy Sky

I am getting a constant background noise of all stations on my Grundig
digibox. I've done all the obvious things but nothing seems to work. I don't
know if it's the box or the LNB. Anyone got any ideas?

Maybe it isn't the digibox.

Have you proved that it isn't your telly?

Hi Brendan,

No it's not my telly as I've just bought a new JVC and the noise is still
there and it's also on the portable in my bedroom.

Thanks

It's a sort of background rumbling that is steadily getting louder. It's
much worse when I turn on the surround sound.

Are you sure that it isn't the TV? What happens if you connect the
digibox to the TV using an RF lead and not the scart? What happens
when you try another digibox?

I have a portable in the bedroom using the RF lead and the noise is still
there. My main TV is only 3 weeks old and it's a JVC but the noise was there
on my old TV. I haven't tried another box yet but it looks like it's my only
option to prove it one way or another at this stage.

Thanks for your help.

Fair enough. The box is surely poorly. Not something I've come across
myself.
