Default Sky + as satelite broadband

Am I right in thinking by upgrading to sky + the quad lnb that you get would
then allow me to have sky +, an additional box upstairs leaving a spare
outlet to run satellite broadband. I have seen sites quoting £140 to enable
this. I know it is download only but broadband wont be around my area for
another 2 years. Can anyone give me some advice on this as a setup.

I don't believe Sky have started their broadband service yet, though
they were talking about it a few months ago. I do know that you can get
broadband from other satellites, such as Sirius where TV1000 comes from,
so unless your dish is motorised it ain't gonna do you any good.

I could, of course, be talking a load of cobblers. It's been a while
since I last looked into it all.

The Sat Broadband (download only) that was supposed to start up this Month
(Jan) used the same satelitte Astra 2 (28.2) as SKY, so no dish movement
would be necessary. I've lost the link, but will post here when I find it
(Think I have it at work)

And Newwave Communications at
(http://www.newwavecommunications.co.uk/satellite) They seem to imply that
you can use your existing dish with a quad LNB, but don't specify what bird
you need to pointed at.

There is also Tiscali (www.tiscali.co.uk), but I couldn't find any
information on their web page for Sat service. I have sent an inquiry, and
will post the info here when I get it.

Yes. There is currently a service on Eurobird (nothing to do with Sky)
and another will be operating on 33°E which will require a dish
modification.

AVC Broadband is download only however. Which means you still need to have
a dialup ISP for upload.

The satellite ISPs all seem to have a download limit of a GB or 2 per month too.
