Default Can I get Sky+ ?

Hi All

I live in a block of flats where we have a communiuty satellite dish,
and all flats in the building have a Sky socket. I have read that Sky+
needs two LNB connections for it to work. Does that mean that I won't be
able to get Sky+ installed?

Thanks

paul

SKY will not be interested in selling it to you since they don't like doing
roof work and the communal system is beyond their right to tamper with
when installing a system. The odds are also high that it will be very expensive to
arrange with your buildings owner to have a second LNB feed, it may even be
impossible if the cables were laid when the building was turned into flats.

I have read that there is a device that can manipulate two LNB signals and send
them down a cable and separate them for feeding to SKY+ and obviously doing
the same with signals to the LNB.
Can't remember the name of the product only that is was very expensive.

Perhaps in this case a TIVO will give you the flexibility you want from a single
LNB SKY digital source and you might consider adding a Freeview box (with
or without HD recording) to the mix.

Thanks for your reply, Mike.

I live in a large block of flats with a communal satellite system and I had
Sky+ installed a couple of months ago. Just call whoever is your service
provider - ours is SCCI.

Ian
