Can someone please tell me the difference between FTV and FTA please and how do
I get one

Presumably for the same reason that it was supposed that they would
not be available after Dec 31 2003: the original date given on the
website.

What's to stop them putting back the Jan 31 date too? Nothing much.

Maybe not! As others have said all the emphasis was on promoting the fact that
V1 card owners could obtain a FTV V2 card and *NOT* on claiming that there
would be an everlasting source of new V2 FTV cards!
