Channel 4 RED DOT returns

To whom it may concern, the Channel 4 RED DOT, which has been absent for
several months has returned again in the past 24 hours.

However, from a regulatory view point, it is my personal opinion that
this unsolicited advertising (where the third party is notified
beforehand), is a breach of the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

In my view, the anti-SPAM laws may be used to prevent this RED DOT from
appearing, and the RED DOT should be treated in the same way as other
personal privacy matters. Citizens should have to opt-in, should have
the right of opt-out, and "no" means "no", not ask me again in 10
minutes.

I also think it is highly irresponsible of C4 to "advertise" premium
pay-to-use Interactive Services that are aimed at persons aged 16 and
over, when access to the TV within households at this time of day is by
persons of all ages and no-opt out has been provided.


Anyway, for those viewers who care, it is time to complain again to get
this eyesore removed.

Even on E4 they enable/disable it from time to time, without any kind of
pattern, although whenever I've seen Countdown during this time they've always
had the "NEWGAME" logo.

I'm surprised we've not had endless red-dots for Shattered, unless they've
realised that no-one cares about it.

Can't C4/E4 employ anyone who *isn't* a dumbass?

employees and contractors behaved slightly more pleasantly to other

Well, he was on Zero 30 a couple of times which was a good show before they
turned it into Liquid News and Christopher Price seemed to be barred by the
BBC from being funny like he used to be.

Now Liquid News is to be dropped as well.
