Which FTA channel(s) could disappear without anyone noticing? Any that
really should disappear?

Any chance we can change the ground rules and volunteer Sky One?

ITV News - or whatever they now call it.
Fox News (replace with MSNBC or really anything else).

All shopping channels.

I confess that during adverts, I may flick through the 200's very
briefly, and we once watched some railway journey programme on The
Travel Channel and Motors TV, but apart from that, I can't imagine we
will ever watch anything other than the firt 5 channels plus very rare
DOG-FREE BBC THREE and BBC FLAW views such as James Brown in session.

As people are saying, Sky or circumstance, has killed dead FTA
satellite's chance of ever gaining more than a few 0.05% market share.
It's over for good.

May be in 5 years, DTT / FREEVIEW may have some decent channels, but it
has got off to an abysmal start.

I think we watch more FIVE than any other channel now days.
