Hi all

I have a relatively new Sky+ installation, installed at the beginning of
December as a totally new installation (new dish, new Sky+ box, new
subscription of course).

I was reading this newsgroup today (just found you all, hi and it seems
that you have all been enjoying dual recording since December 3rd which is
maybe 2 days after my box was installed so it looks like it has never
upgraded itself since it was installed as I can not dual record and when I
check my software version in the setup page it tells me it is Sky+

v1.24.i2.

I have tried disconnecting all power for 60+ seconds, then powering it

back
up but leaving it on standby for 30+ minutes and also tried leaving it
powered up and on (but not really doing anything) for 30+ minutes and it
just doesn't seem to want to upgrade at all. I have repeated this process
twice.

What am I doing wrong? Or do I have a crapped out box

Thanks in advance for any help
Dave

Thanks for the very quick reply, I tried doing what you suggested but
nothing happened. I tried it from the FAQ with the "backup" button instead
of the standby button (is that what you meant?) and it did the forced

reset
thing which I was a bit reluctant to do before since everything I read
suggested that should not be necessary for a standard software update.

Anyway, 10 minutes later and its now on v1.26.v2 (Is this the latest

version
now?) and I can record 2 channels at the same time.

I guess I will find out if its updating automatically next time they

update
the software, does someone usually post here if the version changes?

Thanks again for the help, god knows how long I would have been without

that
feature if I had not found this group and the FAQ.
Dave

Yeah i got my buttons mixed up !!

Sorry.

Glad it worked.

That's what it's there for.
