Default New Digibox & FTV

I have a Skyplus box (the V1 pace Box) on trial. I will be buying one at
the end of the trial (i have convinced them to give me a new V2 box or "I
would seriously consider not buying the thing".

Aaaanyway, when i buy the box outright, Sky will send a wee man to install a
free digibox anywhere else in the house.

My question is, given that i will not be paying a second subscription, do i
need to get a free to view card for the free digital chanels (BBC3 etc.) on
the freebie box?

If I do, will Sky continue to provide these for existing subscribers to the
full package (i.e. for second digiboxes in their bedrooms)?

I raise this query because of comments made elsewhere that Sky will
discontinue to support FTV (ie issue or activate cards) after the end of
January.

Not for any BBC channels, but you will need an FTV card for
ITV-1, C4 and Five.

If you mean an FTV card, they are only available from the FTV card
issuing service at £23:50 each.

Sky have nothing to do with the FTV card service, it's run by ITV/4 and 5,
and seems that it will cease on 31/1/04.

BBC3 is FTA. You do not need any kind of a card for it. You don't even need
a $ky box. A real satellite receiver will suffice.
