Default Newbie needs pointing in right direction re replacement sky digibox, ...please

Hi
Have old PACE digibox, looking to replace with faster better etc. Can't
afford to upgrade subs to get Sky+ sub free.

Can you get a Sky+ box and use it as normal digibox until you add
subscription? would getting Sky to add the sub later be easy?

Alternatively, websites are advertising Panasonic DSB40, Pace 2600CI and
Grundig GDS3000 - any pointers re there relative merits / problems would be
much appreciated.

Thank to all spending the time to reply.

Thanks for your note Stan, unfortunately that still depend on s £10 extra
sub or 2 premium channels. Hope to move to those later but in meantime want
a better box - hence the questions.

Yes and yes.
There is no personal planner on the Sky+ if you don't have the
recording features activated.
