Default Green Screen

Was watching UK Gold and the picture disappeared and screen just went bright
green. The remote was unresponsive and the box wouldn't switch off at the
unit - I had to use the mains and do a reset. Is this normal or is this box
on the way out?

Thanks.

It's common enough on some models/brands. A reset usually cures it.

It usually craps out needing a reset every couple of days although it's the
first time it went green - other times I get no signal, picture freezes etc.
Tonight for example the listings stopped working and just stayed on
"searching for listings" indefinitely. Search and scan works though. Am I
being overly worried or this normal behaviour for the amstrad?

No, that isn't normal. I find that some Amstrad 300 units can produce
a green screen once a month or so. A reboot cures it. What you
describe is something else.

Dammit then. This is my forth refurb box in two months.

For the record, what is normal behaviour in terms of rebooting? Once a
week? Once a month?

Normal is as long as a piece of string. I can't remember the last time
I had to reset my Panasonic and Grundig regular digiboxes though my V1
Sky+ needs a reset at least once a month. Some Amstrad 300s seem to
lock up quite often.
