I mentioned that a friend told me the code and the person I
spoke to put it through without any problems at all.

The money has been deducted from my account which I think
means that the contract is valid. I read somewhere that this
isnt a BT code it's just a code that Sky are keeping to
themselves to help get rid of old refurbished stock, they
dontwant to advertise the fact that people are not keeping
Sky+.

Refurbished stock includes the hundreds of faulty SKY+ units that
have been returned since SKY as a rule do a straight swap out under
warranty call outs. These refurbished units were also used for the
5 week trial, those people that signed up after the trial got a brand
new box and the refurb unit went back into circulation.
Offering these units to anyone for £99 with a warranty makes good
sense since SKY+ must be getting brand new units from PACE for
a lot less than the retail price of £199.

For those that got a brand new box due to shortage of the refurb units
in the supply change are laughing, nice when that sorta thing happens
and makes a change from SKY replacing 2 week old SKY+ units
with upto 2 year old refurb units !

I just tried ordering using this code & the operator got arsey, wanting to
know what letter this code appeared on, she said she could not proceed with
my order unless she knew.

I ended up by basically telling her to shove it where the sun don't shine.

I would, but I don't think I've got the patience to hang on the phone for 20
minuites again hoping to get through.

It was bad enough when I did try, especially with getting cut off twice.

I've tried e-mailing Sky complaining, not that I expect it to get me
anywhere.

The staff at Sky cannot win can they?
They get slated here for not knowing what to do, and when one does try and
do their job correctly, someone gets annoyed?

And as for complaining, on what grounds?
Someone has given a link/code, from what I can make out was for BT staff.
You don't seem to be BT staff, and yet you complain?

Next time you go shopping in a shop, don't forget to complain when
confronted to pay full-price and complain that you want a staff discount!

Some people....
