Default Mai Davis on Sky News

Just seen Mai Davis doing the 0000 spot, use to be on TVS (Meridian) about
10 years ago. Is this her first job since then does anyone know ? She
seemed quite nervous. Perhaps Fred Dineage will join her ;-)

She moved to Meridian's Thames Valley region when that launched in 1993.
She was there a couple of years, then left to become press officer for one
of the county cricket clubs I think.

You've got to be joking! Fred is part of the furniture on the South Coast.
He was transferred from TVS to Meridian in the package that included the
studios, kit etc. Without Fred the very fabric of life will crumble in
Hampshire, Dorset and West Sussex.

Reading his Saturday column in the Echo magazine I rather believed he
was about to retire from the news side and concentrate on HOW2.

Therefore he might decide to go in the next year or so, when Meridian move out
of their present base, and go and live in new hut at Fareham.

Isn't he also a director of Portsmouth football club ?

LOL! Oh yes I was joking. Fred's part of the furniture I know. Actually
talking about Meridian how come Carl Tyler came back a few months ago, I
remember reading on Mer's site he had retired Summer 2002 etc

Also is'nt it sad to see what a heep of lard Fern Brittan has turned into
now. She must be taking dieting tips from Dwn French I guess. Anyone got any
recs of her on TVS ?

I can remember her 20 years ago on BBC Plymouth and TSW/Westward.

Hope he's less suicidal than Harry Redknapp was in his post match interview
after Saints thrashed the living daylights out of them yesterday afternoon!
Radio Solent amusingly split the frequencies so that the fans of Pompey Scum
had 96.1 and the Dorset MW output and Saints fans got 999MW and the Dorset
FM frequency. I switched between 999 and 96.1 during the match (neither
great here in Camberley) and listened whilst one got progressively more
downbeat, and the other more ecstatic. Very fair coverage!
