Pace Digibox keeps locking

Hi,

I have a Pace digibox (approx 2 years old), it has always had the
problem of locking up on its own accord. I would leave from work and
all is well, return and find it powered off and it would need a hard
reboot to get it going again. Happens approx every 3 weeks - 1 month,
someimes sooner.

Any ideas why?

I am going on hols soon with quite a few programs on my Personal
Planner ready to record, i would not want the box to lock up in my
absence.

Some do that. You could try reloading the software but I doubt that it
will help.

Fit a timer mains socket that cuts off the mains power from time to
time. Be warned that digibox power supplies don't like this very much.

I had this problem a couple of years ago on my 3+ year old Pace box. The
problem went away, and all has been fine until the last week or so. As has
been posted on here last week, some people are having trouble after Sky did
a software update? My box shows "Searching For Listings" most mornings, I go
to each page on the EPG and it updates, yesterday within 90 minutes it had
lost all its' listings despite being in use at the time!

It has also taken to being problematic to re-boot and refusing to speak to
the remote until it is re-booted.

Is this all down to a Sky software upgrade, and is there anything I can do
about it, bearing in mind it was working perfectly until last week when
other people also began complaining?
