Default ITV1 out of sync

I've mentioned this before on uk.media.tv.misc but it's happened again from
the second part of CD:UK onwards.

The picture and sound are out-of-sync enough to be very noticeable, and this
hasn't happened for a while, but where exactly is the fault? ITV1, Sky or my
silver Panasonic digibox?

I'll quiz ITV about it in the new year, as I will if it's clear that the
blackouts are continuing, but it's ****ing annoying!

Have you briefly tried chaging to a different channel then back to ITV?
I see lip-sync problems from time to time and this sometimes fixes things.

We flick from ITV1 analogue to ITV1 digital (freeview box) and the delay can
be quite amusing though I thought this was a digital / analogue thing.

Tis witchcraft I tell thee

I would blame any lip-sync probs currently seen on the Pop Idol show. All
manner of miming there.

Yes it does. However, it is no good for

(a) programmes you've recorded while you're out or while watching other things
at the time, or
(b) programmes you want to keep (rare on ITV, but it does happen at times) and
that don't get a repeat... with or without a logo!

And I saw the blackouts return on ITV tonight when I saw some Pop Idol. (Hurry
up and begin 'Click Online')

It's nothing to do with that delay. This is a picture/sound sync problem.

Plug the box out of the mains and plug it back in again, this should cure
the problem.

If its pop idol you're watching unplug the tv and leave it that way.

Changing channel and back again gets rid of it, just like unplugging the box,
both until the next time. I don't want it to come back at all.
